Why is psychology not an exact science?


Because you can never establish causality in situations where there are so many extraneous variables. There's always another alternative answer even though we're pretty sure that our chosen answer is correct.

What is concurrent schedule?

A complex reinforcement procedure in which the participant can choose any one of two or more simple reinforcement schedules that are available simultaneously. Concurrent schedules allow for the measurement of direct choice between simple schedule alternatives.

  • Uses research procedures
  • Relies on systematic data collection
  • Replicates studies to test results
  • Challenges existing belifes
  • Avoids emotional reasoning and relies on logic
